How to lower your proxy bill
Most savings come from asking for less, not from a lower rate. Work through these before you top up.
On metered traffic
Residential traffic is billed per GB, so every saved byte is saved money.
- Measure the real weight of a page before you estimate the bill.
- Block images, fonts and video in browser automation.
- Use the JSON endpoint a page loads instead of the full HTML where one exists.
- Back off on 429 responses. An immediate retry downloads the error page again.
On per-IP lines
Start on the shared plan, from $1.25 per datacenter IP. Move to dedicated, from $1.90, only when a target forces you to. A 365-day term takes 20% off the monthly price if you know the job will last.
Match the line to the target
Do not pay for residential on a target that does not block datacenter ranges. Do not pay for datacenter on one that blocks them on sight. Test a small order to find out. See per-GB or per-IP.
Check before you scale
The minimum top-up is $5. Spend that first, measure success on your target, and only then buy the rung that fits. The calculator prices it.
